Sometime on Monday, Oct. 29, in the midst of the Noroton Heights business district, someone removed the catalytic converter out from under an SUV — a Honda, the same brand recently targeted in other vehicle parts thefts in town. Darien police gave this information about the incident:

At 7:50 a.m., the owner parked his 2003 Honda Element in the little lot at the corner of Heights Road and Edgerton Street, just across Heights Road from the Noroton Heights Railroad Station. At 8:30 p.m., the owner returned and found, once he started the engine, that it was making a loud noise. The next day, he drove the SUV to a mechanic on Noroton Avenue.
