Staples to Shutter Its Norwalk Store Near Darien — Permanently

The Staples store on Richards Avenue, near Route 1 not far from Darien, is about to close — not for the snow, but forever — with its last day open on Saturday, Feb. 11, the store has announced. The store’s shelves are already emptying out, and signs are up announcing the upcoming closure.
There aren’t a huge number of items on sale, but after a reporter’s purchase there (with a Staples business card) on Thursday, the register receipt offered 50%-off coupons: $10 on a $20 purchase and $30 off of a $60 purchase. The office supply chain’s store in the Ridgeway Shopping Center, 2299 Summer St., Stamford, remains open and is now the closest Staples to Darien.
