Students of all levels, including beginners, will enjoy working with Robert in a structured and accommodating, yet humorous and fun atmosphere.

Free Art Demonstration at the Rowayton Arts Center with Robert Noreika

Artist Robert Noreika will demonstrate the process he goes through while creating a painting during a free art demonstration Sunday, March 3 at Rowayton Arts Center. Noreika’s art focuses on composition and color — he paints a wide variety of subjects highlighted by expressive coastal scenes, intimate woodland pictorials and street scenes. He emphasizes “you’re making a painting, not documenting a view.”

This demonstration takes place from 2 to 4 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Noreika is a graduate of Paier School of Art and has been a professional artist for forty years. A prominent national award-winning artist and illustrator, his paintings hang in both corporate and private collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.

‘Bending Reality: Color Theory Scheme and Strategies’ Weekend-long Art Workshop

Patti Mollica will be teaching a workshop called “Bending Reality – Color Theory Schemes and Strategies” at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) the weekend of Feb. 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. In this workshop, learn how “less is more” in your palette for good color harmony, and learn to work with the colors of your choice. Many painters feel bound by the colors they see, which can lead to predictable paintings that lack drama, no matter how well they are painted. It’s important to learn how to harness the power of color and use it to communicate your artistic vision.
