Rowayton Arts Center Adult Workshop with Robert Noreika March 23 and 24

Robert Noreika will be teaching a workshop called “Fearless Fluid Watercolors or Acrylics” at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) the weekend of March 23 and 24, from 10 a,m. to 4 p.m. each day. Students will learn to take the essence of the subject and transform it into a pleasing painting, while achieving strong, cohesive value patterns with interesting shapes. Using simple palette combinations along the journey, the group will work creatively from references, sketches and photographs. Students of all levels, including beginners, will enjoy working with Robert in a structured and accommodating, yet humorous and fun atmosphere.

Free Art Demonstration at the Rowayton Arts Center with Robert Noreika

Artist Robert Noreika will demonstrate the process he goes through while creating a painting during a free art demonstration Sunday, March 3 at Rowayton Arts Center. Noreika’s art focuses on composition and color — he paints a wide variety of subjects highlighted by expressive coastal scenes, intimate woodland pictorials and street scenes. He emphasizes “you’re making a painting, not documenting a view.”

This demonstration takes place from 2 to 4 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Noreika is a graduate of Paier School of Art and has been a professional artist for forty years. A prominent national award-winning artist and illustrator, his paintings hang in both corporate and private collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.
