Construction to Close Lanes on Merritt Parkway From Exits 31 to 37, Greenwich to New Canaan

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the resumption of construction activity on Route 15, the Merritt Parkway, in Stamford and New Canaan from the Greenwich town line just north of Exit 31 (North Street) to the vicinity of Exit 37 (Route 124 / South Avenue). Traffic will be shifted on Route 15 southbound and northbound near the area south of Newfield Avenue Bridge. ___________

The project began in August 2013 and consists of 6.5 miles of roadway resurfacing, safety improvements, and landscaping enhancements.  The work also includes rehabilitation of five historic bridges that cross over Route 15. The bridges are Bridge 00712, Route 124 (South Avenue); Bridge 00710R, Metro North Railroad; Bridge 00708, Ponus Ridge; Bridge 00702, River Bank Road; Bridge 00700 Guinea Road.

Nighttime Lane Closures on Merritt Parkway in Westport Thru Sept 2

Nighttime work has restarted on replacing the North Avenue Bridge over the Merritt Parkway in Westport, resulting in lane closures at night about a mile east of Exit 42, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced. The work on the highway, which is U.S. Route 15, is expected to continue for months, ending by Sept. 2, the Friday before Labor Day. The department also announced that flashing signs on Interstate 95, U.S. Routes 15, 7 and various state roads will be replaced at night starting in April, resulting in other nighttime lane closures.
