Kids and Parents: See ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Film Under the Stars at Highland Farm — It’s Free

The Darien Parks and Recreation Department has organized an outdoor film night starting at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3 with the movie “How to Train Your Dragon” being shown at Highland Farm. — an announcement from the Darien Parks and Recreation Department

Bring a snack, blanket and chairs, and “snap a photo at our medieval photobooth, and the first 100 youth to visit our table get a mini, 2-inch dragon figurine!” the event poster says.

Weed Beach Goes Hawaiian with Summer Luau, 5:30 to 8:30 PM This Friday, Aug 22

You and your family and friends are invited to the End of Summer Luau this Friday, Aug. 22 at Weed Beach, the Darien Parks and Recreation Department has announced. Starting at 3 p.m. that day, Weed Beach will be closed to regular beachgoers. Attendees who want to park their cars will need to register beforehand. As of Monday evening, there were 22 car spaces still available.
