Police: Victim Confronts Thief and Gets Hit With Car Door; SUV Stolen on Same Street, Same Day

When the owner of a car parked in her driveway saw someone rummaging around in it, she decided to confront the thief, but all she got for her efforts was the thief opening the door of his getaway car — a Porsche SUV — which struck her leg, police said. On the same street, at about the same time and day, a 2024 Audi Q5 was stolen, police said. Darien police gave these additional details, including accusations not proven in court:
The woman’s unlocked car was in the driveway of her home on Anthony Lane at about 8:50 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, when she saw the thief. She ran outside and grabbed door handles of the Porche as the pilferer was trying to leave.
