Attention movie lovers: Mark your calendars on Wednesday, Nov. 30, the annual “Community-Wide Movie” benefiting the Darien Human Services Holiday gift drive will again take place at the Darien Playhouse. Sponsored by the Darien Youth Commission, the Darien Human Services Department, the Depot’s Helping Hand Club and the movie theater, this year’s film is Disney’s latest release: “MOANA.”
This movie premieres in theaters on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Please consider waiting until Wednesday the 30th to bring the whole family to the movie!!

The Darien Youth Commission invites you to the annual Tilley Pond Model Boat Regatta. Registration begins at 12 noon on Saturday, April 30, with non-racing judging starting at 12:30 p.m.
There’s a $3 participant entry fee payable at the regatta at the registration table. In addition to the boats, there will be face painting, refreshments and Georgie the Clown will be there. There are two races:
Heat 1 — homemade models — at 1 p.m.
Heat 2 — “Sharpie” boat kids (immediately following Heat 1)
Homemade vessels are strongly encouraged! Boat kits are for sale at the Youth Commission Office, Room 110 in Town Hall, or at the event starting at 11:30 a.m. Kits cost $10. Call the Youth Commission at 656-7388 for additional information
