The Level 6 Gymnasts finished in 1st place, Level 8 finished 3rd and Level 9 finished 2nd. The team also had four All-Around Champions and 13 Event Champions. Results and photos provided by John Swartz, Darien YMCA gymnastics director.
Bringing home a blizzard of awards from the annual Snowflake Invitational at the Wilton YMCA is becoming a habit for Darien YMCA gymnastics. The Level 7 squad set the pace with a sweep of the team and AA titles. Kristie Alianiello was the AA champ in the 11-13 age group, with 36.40, and placed third on floor, fifth on beam and second on bars and vault, where she tied Julia Decsi. Decsi was also third AA and topped the podium on floor and beam, where she tied Anna Primmer. Primmer vaulted to first with 9.5 and was second on floor and fourth AA. Sofia Alarcon-Frias swung to fourth on bars and was third on beam, fifth on floor and sixth on vault and AA.
