Darien Sidewalk Sales and Family Fun Days

Sale prices, contests for kids and adults, a collectible car show, circus stilt walkers, fun with balloons, face painting and live music will all be part of this year’s Sidewalk Sales & Family Fun Days from Thursday through Saturday, July 11 to 13 in Darien. The event runs all day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., each day in downtown Darien and the Noroton Heights shopping district. There will be something for everyone! Shoppers of all ages will find bargains under the tents and inside shops on the Post Road, in Goodwives, and Noroton Heights shopping centers. Merchants have announced sales of up to 70% off!

Sidewalk Sale Days Continue for One More Day: What’s Coming on Saturday, July 13

Darien merchants participating in Sidewalk Sale Days “reported record sales,” according to the Darien Chamber of Commerce, which organized the event, which continues for one more day: Saturday. On Thursday, sidewalks downtown were full of merchandise at a discount, along with fun things for kids, and some for adults. Seth Morton (also moderator of the Darien Representative Town Meeting) had a game set up with a wheel kids could spin. “I tell them to remind their parents who I am and to give them a card — it’ll be the only card they’re given” at the sidewalk sales, he said. He’ll tell adults that he’s available to help them when they’re planning their future,  “looking at what their assets are, what their liabilities are and what their situation is at the moment.”
