A Dec. 13 announcement from Darien police about a spate of bomb threats emailed around the country had a local connection the same day as the announcement — a bomb threat emailed to a local business. At 1:36 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, police received a report of a bomb threat emailed to Sipsters wine shop at 1053 Post Road. The email said that an explosive device had been hidden in the store, and unless the store transferred $20,000 in bitcoin currency to an account, the bomb would blow up.
