On the night of Aug. 10 to 11, a Saturday and Sunday, alarms were activated at a downtown jewelry store when the circuit breaker was broken into and the electricity was turned off in a suspected burglary attempt. Here’s what police said in their report:

Police officers responded to several alarm activations that night at David Harvey Jewelers at 995 Post Road. Each time, officers reported that the business was secure. The next day, the owner of the store told police that Eversource was called and told the jewelry store that the problem must be on the premises, because power to the building (which has other tenants) didn’t appear to have been interrupted.
