When a woman living on Hollow Tree Ridge Road checked her mailbox on Wednesday, Jan. 5, she found it open and empty, although a package had been delivered, according to the U.S. Postal Service.
The woman reported the incident to police at 1:39 p.m. that day. According to USPS delivery tracking information (which you can get online, here), she said, a package was delivered to her at 7:57 p.m. two days before, on Monday, Jan. 3.
Police didn’t give the woman’s address or even say what general area on Hollow Tree Ridge Road, one of Darien’s longest roads, the mailbox is located.
