Metro-North once again will have extra trains traveling to New York City for New Year’s Eve revelers, the railroad announced.
Rules to Remember
Two rules to especially remember, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announcement:
—”Masks covering your nose and mouth are required on all Metro-North trains, in all stations and at Grand Central Terminal.”
—”Alcohol is not permitted on Metro-North trains from 12 p.m. [noon] Friday, Dec 31 through 12 p.m. [noon] Saturday, Jan. 1.”
“We strongly suggest you skip the ticket machine line by using MTA eTix on your iPhone or Android,” the announcement said.
Schedule Changes
On Friday, New Year’s EVE: “[W]e’re operating on a regular weekday schedule, with extra inbound trains between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to help folks traveling to the city,” the announcement said.
“After 1 a.m., special service will continue to operate all night on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines.”
On Saturday, New Year’s DAY, Metro-North will have a special schedule with hourly service on all lines and regular weekend service on branch lines, including the New Canaan Branch.
Subway Changes
On both Friday and Saturday, subways will operate on a Saturday schedule.
