Mark Christopher Lombardo of Darien passed away peacefully on Jan. 22, 2022 at Norwalk Hospital after his short battle with cancer. He was 58.
Mark was born in Stamford to Carmen and Judith Lombardo on Nov. 13, 1963. He graduated from Darien High School in 1982. He continued his education at The University of Maine, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Mark worked as a second vice president for GenRe Insurance in Stamford for 32 years.
He enjoyed coaching hockey, baseball and soccer for his two sons, vacationing and traveling with his family, skiing, playing cornhole at the beach, listening to live music and hanging out with friends and family.
Mark is survived by his wife of 22 years, Nancy; his sons, Ryan and Tyler; along with his loving black lab, Shadow. Mark is also survived by his brother, Jeff (Kim) of Norwalk; sister, Kristen (Bill); and brother, Michael, all of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Kuhn; sister-in-law, Carrie Kuhn, both of Norwalk; father-in-law, James Kuhn of Wilton; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents, Carmen and Judith Lombardo, who were longtime residents of Darien.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Tuesday Jan. 25, 2022, at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien. A graveside service will immediately follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
