Kathleen A. Schultz, passed away on Jan.31, at her home in Fairfield, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kathleen Schultz passed away on Jan. 31. A memorial gathering will be held on March 3.
Kathy was born in 1967 in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She received a master’s degree from both Sacred Heart University and the University of Bridgeport.
Kathy worked for 29 years in the Darien Public Schools system. All will miss her joyful exuberance, the care and devotion she shared with each and every child she encountered, her strong connections with staff and families, and her willingness to jump into a costume at any time to make people smile.
Kathy was a dedicated educator and a champion of children. She gave so much not only to the students, staff, and families of the Darien community, but to everyone she met throughout her life.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Susan Schultz; her nephew, Tommy Schultz, and her beloved dog, Yoyo. She is survived by her siblings: John (Caryll) Schultz of Kansas City, Mary Ann (Michael) Musick of Chicago, Joseph (Holly) Schultz of St. Louis, Lisa Schultz of Chicago and Fairfield, Jennifer (Caley) Jones of St. Louis; and her nieces and nephews: Joe and Megan Schultz, Cole Musick, Kyle and Keith Schultz, and Jetta, Alexa, Lainey and Gracie Jones.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Kathy will be held on, Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Tokeneke School in Darien. Drop in anytime between 12 noon and 2 p.m. to share memories with family and friends. A future celebration of life will be held in St. Louis in the summer. Details to follow.
