Julie Cook Chamberlin of Darien unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday morning, Oct. 21. She was 78.
Julie was born on Oct. 23, 1946 in Hartford to Victor and Elizabeth Cook.

Julie Chamberlan, 78, passed away Oct. 21. Her wake will be on Oct. 24 in Darien, and her funeral the next day in Stamford.
She grew up in West Hartford as the oldest of nine children. While attending a dance at the Madison Beach Club, she met her husband, Theodore Chamberlin. They were married in 1966 and together they raised two children.
Julie was an avid volunteer at her children’s elementary school and with various local organizations. She later started a wallpaper hanging business with her good friend and ended her working career as a preschool teacher, known as “Miss Julie.” She was kind, generous, had a great sense of humor and loved her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Brooke (John) Nilsen; son, Ted (Meg) Chamberlin III; and her grandchildren: Lily, John and Tessa. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore.
A wake will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct.24, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford. Julie’s internment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
