David Martin, a beloved husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and dedicated Darien community member, passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 65.
His death marks the end of a remarkable life characterized by unwavering devotion to his family, steadfast commitment to public service and a distinguished career in finance.
David was a cherished figure in his community, where he served on multiple town boards and volunteered extensively. His contributions were a testament to his deep-rooted belief in civic duty and his passion for improving the lives of those around him.
Before transitioning to public service, David enjoyed a successful career in finance, culminating in his retirement from JP Morgan Asset Management. His professional journey was marked by his expertise and dedication, setting a high standard for excellence in the industry.
Beyond his professional and civic achievements, David was a passionate musician. His love for music was evident in his talent for playing the guitar, an interest that brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with others in meaningful ways. He is survived by his wife, Ann Reed; his children, Matt (Elise Prehoda) and Eileen (David Feder); his grandchildren: Tommy, Maggie, and Annie; his brother, Charlie (Kendra); and his many nieces and nephews. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of service, love, and music will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Sept. 28, 2024 at the First Congregational Church, 14 Brookside Road, Darien.
