Charlotte Suffredini, 83, passed away March 16.
Charlotte was born to Louise and Charles McFarlin on March 24, 1940, in Sheffield, Alabama. Her family moved to Darien when she was 5 years old. She graduated high school from Low-Heywood Thomas School in 1958 and attended Centenary University in Hackettstown, New Jersey, where she graduated with an associates degree.
She worked for THE telephone company in the early 1960s. Charlotte was married to Joseph R. Suffredini in October 1963. They resided in Connecticut for 25 years, where they raised four children, several dogs, cats and birds. Charlotte and Joseph moved to Rhode Island in 1995 and enjoyed many years in the beautiful Buttonwoods community. In 2022 Charlotte moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area.
She is survived by her children: Martha Ladd, J. Christopher Suffredini (Kristin), Julia Guilmette (Edward), and Charles Suffrredini (Leslie), her grandchildren: Davis and Spencer Ladd, Henri and Isabelle Guilmette, and Christopher and Benjamin Suffredini.
Charlotte enjoyed the ocean and spent many summers with her mother and father on the family boat. She was a member of the Garden Club in Rhode Island, a rug hooker and enjoyed the symphony, plays and going to museums.
While she had traveled all through Europe and made a cross country adventure to California and back again, she had always been a Southerner at heart and spent many summers with her children in Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas and Alabama.
She instilled in her children and grandchildren a love of reading, a sense of wonder and curiosity and the derring-do of adventure. She was a loving and generous mother, a kind and compassionate friend and a spirited lover of life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her wake was held on March 22, 2024 followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More Church and burial at Spring Grove Cemetery .
