The Darien Department of Public Works will begin replacing the sidewalk on Nearwater Lane between the intersections of Brush Island Road and Nickerson Lane early in November, according to an announcement on the town government website.
The project will start on or about Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, the announcement said. Preliminary layout and tree removal will begin before that. The project is expected to take about one month.

“The sidewalk will be constructed of asphalt and will include handicap ramps as intersections,” the announcement said. ” The location of the sidewalk will be approximately the same as the existing sidewalk.”
The area will remain open to traffic and Darien Police or other traffic personnel will be on site during construction. For more information or to ask questions, you can contact the Darien Department of Public Works at 203-656-7346 or visit the DPW web page.
