An 18-year-old Weston woman is accused of getting into a physical altercation in the Darien Library parking lot on Jan. 3. Darien police said the incident was a case of domestic violence.
After a complaint was made to Darien police, the department applied for an arrest warrant, which was approved by a judge, charging her with second-degree breach of peace and setting her bond at $5,000.
The woman turned herself in at Darien Police Headquarters (coincidentally right next door to the parking lot) on Jan. 15. She was booked and released after paying 7% of the bond ($350). She is due to appear Jan. 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
Police released no further details, including whether anyone was injured or even hurt in the incident and what time of day or night it took place. (State law forbids police from releasing details that may identify an accuser.)
