Phone/Internet lines for the main station near the front of a restaurant had been purposefully cut by someone, employees found on Sunday, Sept. 18, police said. The mischief at Matsuri Restaurant, 390 Post Road, appeared to have been done sometime overnight, and no other damage was done to the restaurant, police said. Cutting the lines prevented someone at the main station from transmitting orders to the kitchen or taking orders and transmitting credit card information, according to police. There were no signs of forced entry into the building, so whoever entered may have had a key and could possibly have been an employee or former employee, police said.

A police officer on patrol recalled seeing nothing out of place at 1:30 a.m. with the planter, located on the sidewalk in front of the business. But by 6:30 a.m., the planter was broken, the same officer saw. It appeared that the pot was maliciously broken. Editor’s note: Bars in Connecticut close by 2 a.m.
