Pacific House Gala Honors DeAnne and James Calcagnini of Darien

DeAnne and James Calcagnini of Darien will be honorees at an Oct. 12 gala fundraising event for Pacific House, which runs a homeless shelter for men and young adults from Stamford, Darien and area towns. The Calcagninis will be honored for their longstanding support of the Stamford homeless shelter. The event will raise funds “to support the shelter and help end homelessness in Fairfield County,” according to a news release from the organization. The 17th annual event is expected to have more than 500 attendees at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. Former Major League Baseball player and manager Bobby Valentine will serve as master of ceremonies.

Pacific House is hosting its gala on Friday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich Hotel. DeAnne and James Calcagnini, of Darien, will be the event honorees. The committee is led by Andrew M. Reid and includes Cliff Berger, Jim Bosek, James Calcagnini, Aaron Eiges, Steven Fox, Brad Mahaney, Marc Malloy, Jane Pelletier, Peter Rugen, and Chris Tate.

Community Fund of Darien Gives $34K to Stamford Homeless Shelter That Serves Darien

Pacific House received a $34,000 grant from the Community Fund of Darien to support the organization’s efforts to provide safe shelter to homeless men while getting them back to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible. Pacific House is the only regional men’s emergency shelter, serving Greenwich, Stamford, New Canaan, Darien and the rest of Fairfield County. — Information in this article is from an announcement from the Community Fund of Darien. In 2017, Pacific House aided 335 clients, served almost 50,000 meals and provided roughly 20,000 shelter stays. “We thank the Community Fund of Darien for their generous gift and continued support,” said Rafael Pagan Jr., Pacific House executive director.
