If You Adopt a Dog or Cat from Stamford Animal Control by Jan 14, You Pay No Fees

A New Canaan woman, through her company, is donating all dog and cat adoption fees at the Stamford Animal Control Shelter through Jan. 14. Those who adopt an older dog that’s been in the shelter for more than one year will receive two free training sessions to help the animal acclimate to its new home. During the two-week event, the $75 adoption fees being waived include the costs of spaying or neutering, micro-chipping and vaccinations. Here’s how the program got started in Stamford:

Our friend Franchesca Biondo has stepped in to sponsor a sweet southern Boxer/Pit mix dog who is about a year old, heartworm negative, spayed, fully vetted and needs a home. ___________

Franchesca tells us that Coco is good with most dogs and older children. “She has a very nice disposition,” Franchesca said, adding that Coco is quiet but loves to play, too. She was surrendered by her owner along with a German Shepherd, who went to rescue without her.
