Jeanette Pignataro Algiere, 94, of Darien passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, June 24, 2025, in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania.

Jeanette Algiere, 94, passed away on June 24. A gravesite service was held on June 27 in Darien.
She was born on Nov. 26, 1930, in Port Chester, New York to the late Antonio and Bambina Pignataro, originally of Cosenza, Italy.
A devoted parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Darien, Jeanette lived a life rooted in faith. She was also an avid reader and a proud member of the Darien Library. She found joy in cooking for her loved ones, tending her garden, sewing, and knitting. She also worked for over 20 as a valued employee in the banking industry.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Michael John Algiere; her sister, Mary LiMarzi; and her brother, Angelo Pignataro.
Jeanette is survived by her three children and their spouses: Michelle and Stephen Hill of Mountain Top; Diane and Dr. Thomas Hanlon of Mountain Top; and Michael and Sally Jane Algiere of Milford. She was a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer and Lenny Melendez, Maj. Michael and Melissa Hanlon, Kevin Hanlon, Timothy and Amber Hanlon, Christopher and Courteney Algiere, and Brian and Allison Algiere. Jeanette was also a proud and loving great-grandmother to Joey, Lucas, Kade, Luke, Jack and William.
A graveside service was held on Friday, June 27 at St. John’s Cemetery.
The family thanks Smith Health Care of Mountain Top and Residential Hospice of Moosic for all their support and care.
