Donald Albert Brunner passed peacefully Oct. 20, 2025 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. he was 96.
Donald Bruner, 96, passed away on Oct. 20. His funeral will be on Nov. 28 in Norwalk.
Born July 7, 1929, son of Walter and Charlotte (née Peterick) Brunner. Don graduated in 1947 from Darien High, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UConn (Class of ’51), a law degree from Brooklyn Law (’54) and his MBA from New York University.
He was well liked and respected in careers at Microdot, Lone Star, TexasGulf and Beiersdorf. Don always had a warm smile, quick wit and loved jokes.
He enjoyed golf as a member of Shorehaven Golf Club, then Ballantrae Golf & Yacht Club. He had a green thumb and created beautiful gardens.
As a revered patriarch, Don fostered love, imparted wisdom on and cared deeply for family. He leaves behind his daughters, Eileen Nolan (Gerard) and Amy Wilson (Roger); his grandchildren: NoraNoël and Richard Nolan, Alec and Peyton Thompson. He was predeceased by his wife, Noël; his son, Donald Jr. (Carol), and brother, Walter.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m., Nov. 28, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk, with interment following at St. Johns Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk.
