Darien Arts Center Celebrates 50th Anniversary by Honoring Its Volunteers, Board Members and Presidents

The Darien Arts Center’s 50th anniversary celebration this Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Darien Community Association will include honoring those who have worked to make the arts center successful, along with music and dances performed by arts center students.

The arts center has extended the deadline for purchasing tickets to Friday, Oct. 31.

Among the honorees are Pam Heckel, Frank Kemp (in memoriam), Anne Perlin, Marion Weatherstone and Anner Ernst Wright.

Darien Arts Center 50th Year logoThe arts center will showcase the artistry of its students with live music performances by  Cole Morgan, Kayla Bulpitt, and board member Dan Kunetz and dance performances by DACDA Company students Bridget Parr, Eloise Mallié, Logal Samuel, Sabrina Byrnes and Lulu Deluca.

Also at the celebration, the arts center will announce the launch of the Community Enrichment Fund, an initiative designed “to make a difference in the lives of students in Darien and neighboring communities,” according to a news release from the center.

The event also includes a silent auction with opportunities to bid on many items, including tickets to a Patriots vs. Giants game, Curtain Call theater tickets, Darien Pilates private sessions and a custom watercolor portrait of your house.

The aim of the Darien Arts Center is to keep the arts accessible to all through scholarships, grants, and community programs.

The DAC’s 50th Anniversary takes place from 6 to 9 p.m., this Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road Darien. Tickets, available online here, cost $125. The deadline for getting tickets is this Friday, Oct. 31.
