A 50-year-old man who lives there had grabbed and elbowed a person at his home on Lake Drive, said police, who received “a report of a verbal argument” at 2:40 a.m. on Friday, March 20.

Darien police gave this account of what happened, including charges not proven in court:

The man denied he was in physical contact with the victim during what he described as a minor altercation.

A Darien EMS-Post 53 ambulance was called and the victim was treated for minor injuries that police didn’t describe in the announcement.

The man was issued a misdemeanor summons charging him with disorderly conduct. He was scheduled to appear later the same day in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Editor’s note: State law mandates that in domestic violence cases police may not release any kind of identifying information on victims.
