Darien Library presents its first-ever “Novel Tea” fundraiser featuring bestselling author Cheryl Strayed (Wild: From Lost To Found On The Pacific Crest Trail). The lunch will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 30 at Wee Burn Country Club on Wednesday, March 30. “We can’t wait to discuss in person with Cheryl Strayed her journey as someone whose life has seemingly been all but determined, but who chose to take a chance, and in doing so, opened herself up to limitless possibilities,” said Tara Ochman, fundraising chair of the Darien Library Board of Trustees

At the age of 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State—and to do it alone.
