The Darien Fire Department has challenged the Rowayton Fire Department, last year’s first prize-winner, for the chance to wear the crown at the Rowayton Historical Society’s 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off.

The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. in Rowayton’s Pinkney Park.

Rowayton Historical Society 2018 Chili Cook-Off square thumbnailThe Cook-Off is a fundraiser for the Rowayton Historical Society which is currently raising funds to create a new maritime museum focusing on Long Island Sound.

The new museum will be the only one in our area focusing on local maritime history.

Live Bluegrass, cold beer, corn bread and of course, plenty of delicious chili make for the perfect fall day.

Contestants include O’Neill’s Pub (previous best restaurant winner), Little Pub, Brendan’s 101 (voted best restaurant in 2017), Rowayton and Darien Fire Departments, Rowayton Library, and last year’s Third Prize Winner, Updawg.

Admission to the event is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 12-17, and free for children under 12.

Parking is available in the Old School Field lot on the corner of Witch Lane and Rowayton Avenue.
