Whether you are a CEO, entrepreneur, student, or homemaker, knowing how to share and store digital files is a helpful and sometimes critical skill when you are communicating and collaborating with your colleagues or contacts.

Students will expand upon their knowledge of Google Drive by exploring Google Photos and Google Calendar. This class will highlight Google Drive’s collaborative tools and its synching methodologies; students will create and share albums with classmates by using Google Drive’s powerful file storage and file sharing service.

At the completion of this two hour class, you will:

  • Understand how to navigate and use Google Drive for a variety of your needs; this includes but is not limited to business use, personal use and classroom use.
  • Learn how to synchronize Google Calendar across devices and computers
  • Learn how to operate Google Photos; this includes how to share an album and how to backup your photos from your device or computer to Google Photos storage service

Students are required to have a Gmail account set up prior to class. Students may bring a personal laptop for use during this class; Library computers will be made available as well.

About the Instructor

James Simon is a Stamford native and tech enthusiast. He is the director of technology for the UConn School of Business in Stamford. James is currently responsible for the day to day needs of the Stamford Campus School of Business department as well as the Connecticut Information Technology Institute, also known as CITI. He is the leader of UConn’s distance learning initiative and he provides a vast amount of classroom technical support for faculty and staff.
