New Canaan Library is pleased to present a unique opportunity to get a peek inside the fascinating world of our local owls. Naturalist, author and bird tour guide Frank Gallo will speak at the library on Tuesday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room.

Gallo, author of recently released Birding in Connecticut will take the audience through the little known worlds of Connecticut’s local owls. During his hands-on presentation, Frank will explain in depth their fascinating behaviors and adaptations, and let the audience in on local sites where they can be found.

Following the presentation, Frank will be signing copies of Birding in Connecticut, the definitive guide to where, when and, how to find birds in the state.

Frank Gallo is a leading expert on where to find birds in Connecticut and has led birding expeditions all over the world. Gallo is a tour leader for Sunrise Birding, LLC, an international birding tour company, a member of the Connecticut Avian Rare Records Committee, and a federally licensed master bird bander.

He was the past director of Eco-Travel and Field Studies at New Canaan Nature Center and Connecticut Audubon’s director of the Coastal Center at Milford Point.
