A 35-year-old woman, dropping off a child to a man working at a Post Road business, got into a heated argument with the man, resulting in her arrest for disorderly conduct and violating a no-contact restraining order, Darien police said.

Police described what happened with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

The woman had called the man to arrange dropping off the child at Darien Upholstery, 903 Post Road, and came by at about the arranged time, 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20. While there, an argument with the man, who called a relative to join them and try to calm her down and get her to leave.

The relative began video recording the woman with his cell phone. The woman smacked the cell phone from the relative’s hand and spat on him, according to a written statement he gave police. The video was turned over to police.

The woman refused to leave. The child was in another room when the incident took place.

The woman had been arrested in December 2015 in connection with another domestic disturbance with the same man, and an order of protection had been filed prohibiting her from contacting him, with the only exception being a curbside exchange of the child in front of the victim’s home.

Police were called at 12:53 p.m. and the woman was arrested. She was initially held on a $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford the next morning, Dec. 21.

Editor’s note: Except in more egregious circumstances, Darienite.com does not normally publish names of those charged in domestic disturbances or domestic violence incidents, which tend to result in charges later being dropped by the courts and no future arrests.
