Vote in the Darien’s Got Talent People’s Choice Awards: 12 Darien Acts Participating

A dozen acts from Darien are vying for top prizes this Saturday, June 25 in Darien’s Got Talent, the primary fundraiser for the Darien Arts Center.

Ella Bates, Lauren Blake, Taylor Felt, Rica Monaghan, Sommer Schmidt, Quinn Taylor, Katherine Gunya, Zach Heyde, Carson Stewart, Laura Anglade, Grant Morro, Paul Nelson, Jess Wilkes, Grady Allen, and Jordan Kalonydes, make up the Darien finalists in the performances that take place at 7 p.m. at Darien High School, 80 High School Lane.

20 local finalists will be competing in the talent show, Darien’s Got Talent on June 25th at 7 p.m. at Darien High School, 80 High School Lane. To purchase tickets for the DAC fundraising event, visit darienarts.org, or for more information, call (203) 655-8683.

Bates, Blake, Felt, Monaghan, Schmidt and Taylor are competing in the children’s category for those 16 and under. Bates, Felt, and Monaghan will showcase their vocal chops, Taylor will play cello, and Blake and Schmidt perform dance routines; Blake’s an Irish step number.

Vocal performers and musical groups comprise the adults participating in the talent competition, with acts that include piano, opera, bass, beat box, and flute. All are reaching for the stars and cash prizes, when they perform in front of accomplished entertainment judges for top prizes in both adult and children categories.

Darien's Got Talent black logo 2016 6-23-16Other finalists from Norwalk, Stamford, Westport and New Canaan round out the talent pool, including Isabella Bardos, Clare Noelle King, Tom Giles, Karen Joyce Miller, Riley Wells Thrush, Ben Roland, a rock band consisting of Ben Teolis, Adeline Teolis, Rodrigo Galavis, and Diego Ferreira, and a dance group consisting of Donyae Carter-Smith, Christopher Thigpen, Toni Yarrell, Alexis Askew, Najheera Miller, Cedric Thigpen, Domonique Carter-Stanley, Morgan Henry, Le’Ashia Langley, David Daniel, Davante Thomas, and Elisha Yarrel.

An exclusive post show party, Darien’s Got Taste is available to VIP ticket holders and sponsors, who will enjoy outstanding cuisine from local establishments, celebrate with the winners of the talent competition and listen to musical entertainment by pianist Bob Rissolo.

Tickets for Darien’s Got Talent are $35 for adults and $20 for students at darienarts.org. VIP tickets are $125 and include up-front seating and entry to the post show party. Family sponsorships at $500 include 5 VIP tickets and entry to the post show party. Patron sponsorships of $1000 include 2 season tickets to DAC Stage productions in addition to family sponsorship benefits.
