Darien police have seen a surveillance video showing a man taking a wallet that a customer left on a counter at Whole Foods Market, but they haven’t been able to identify the thief. At 7:05 p.m. on Monday, June 5, a 31-year-old Norwalk man told police, he accidentally left his brown, Nautica brand wallet on a counter at the supermarket. In the wallet were his driver’s license, a debit card, business cards and other personal papers, along with $300 in cash. He quickly returned to the counter when he realized he had left the wallet behind, but it was gone. That’s because at 7:09 p.m., according to video surveillance records, four minutes after the wallet had been left on the counter, another man can be seen taking it.
