A Darien High School teacher overheard what appeared to be the sale of some marijuana between students, and when the boys — aged 14 and 15 —  were questioned, they confessed, police said. Darien police described the matter with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

The teacher told school staff about the incident, and the students who were identified and questioned. The 14-year-old buyer admitted to getting the marijuana, which police later weighed at 6.16 grams as packaged (more than what would be put in a typical marijuana cigarette). The seller, age 15, admitted to selling four bags of marijuana for a total of $40. The two boys had texted each other, and police saw the messages, which corroborated what they each said.
