Come listen to the jazzy tunes of Free Flow, followed by the Spadtastics at Tilley Pond Park. As always, the Darien Summer Nights concerts are free but tonight is also a fundraiser for Darien’s own Freddie Tuccinardi.

Darien Summer Nights continues Friday night, June 30 with a local favorite, The Spadtastics. The band band formed in 2006, consisting of members from earlier local Darien bands. Their name was inspired by the late Darien resident and former band leader, David Spadacinni. The band covers the popular music of the Grateful Dead, and the members are all extremely talented musicians! We have an extra special evening planned for all ages as we host this concert at Tilley Pond Park.

A special benefit concert by the “Spadtastics”, a Darien-based, Grateful Dead cover band takes place from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26 at Tilley Pond Park. Money raised will go to help a Darien man paralyzed with a spinal cord injury earlier this year. __________

The outdoor concert is part of the Darien Summer Nights series but takes place at the park rather than at Grove Street Plaza.

On Friday, June 24, 2016, The Spadtastics and the Kind Buds will star in a benefit concert for the families of Mark Zengo and Larry “Leo” Cochrane, starting at 6 p.m. at Tilley Pond Park in Darien. The event will honor the memory of two former 1982 Darien High School graduates and friends who died suddenly last summer, three weeks apart. Proceeds will be donated to the education funds for the Zengo and Cochrane children. “We’re really excited to be playing this benefit,” said Mary McGee, a vocalist for the Spadtastics. “We all went to school with Mark and Leo, and can’t think of a better way to honor their lives, and their families.
