Police Issue, Then Remove Silver Alert for Missing Darien Man

At 8 p.m., Tuesday, a Darien Police received a report that a 51-year-old man in town was missing. A “Silver Alert” was issued through the state police Message Center in an attempt to locate him. That attempt doesn’t seem to have involved contacting news organizations in Darien. Police continued investigating the incident into the early morning hours, according to a news release issued shortly after Darienite.com asked about the Silver Alert. By 5 a.m. Wednesday, Darien police officers made contact with the missing man so the Silver Alert was cancelled, and the investigation closed. Darien Patch reported on the Silver Alert at noon Wednesday, although the Patch report didn’t have information on the Silver Alert being cancelled earlier.
