The 2017 Norwalk Oyster Festival will feature live music from dozens of bands on multiple stages, amusement rides, and, of course, oysters. Friday night’s musical highlight on the main stage is the Billy Joel tribute band, Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot. Attendees will also enjoy these other Festival entertainment and attractions: the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, the Nerveless Nocks Thrill Show with motorcycle acts and other daredevil stunts, a craft beer tent with more than 40 beers, an Arts & Crafts Pavilion with items from more than 100 artisans and crafters, an oyster slurping contest, and more. DelGuidice was hand picked and hired by Billy Joel himself, and is currently on tour with Billy Joel playing rhythm guitar and vocals, along with other members of Big Shot. Saturday’s entertainment will include Latin Rock Santana tribute band, Sacred Fire, and Desert Highway, a band celebrating the music of the Eagles.

The festival that traditionally runs the weekend after Labor Day will be held this year on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days. An outdoor festival held at Veteran’s Park in Norwalk, the weekend offers a range of activities and entertainment that the whole family will enjoy. First County Bank is the presenting sponsor of the Festival for the sixth consecutive year. Headlining the musical entertainment this year is Sawyer Fredericks, winner ofNBC’s Emmy Award®-winning The Voice competition in 2015, performing on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Fredericks, a Newtown, CT native, will delight festivalgoers with hissoulful, contemporary folk sound. In addition to Fredericks, a host of national, local and regional musical acts will perform continuously throughout the weekend on several stages throughout the festival area. On The Voice, as part of “Team Pharrell,” Sawyer Fredericks emerged as the youngest victor in the show’s history at just 16-years-old.

The Norwalk Seaport Association announced tonight that Sawyer Frederick, winner of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning The Voice competition in 2015, will be the headline entertainment on Saturday during the 2016 Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival. This year’s Oyster Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10 to 11, 2016. First County Bank will be presenting sponsor of the festival for the sixth consecutive year.
