Darien’s Michael Borecki Makes It to 3rd Place on Jeopardy, Wins $25,000

Michael Borecki, a junior at Darien High School, finished in third place in a finals round of the “Jeopardy Teen Tournament” that aired Tuesday night. He took home  $25,000 for his efforts. Here’s the Jeopardy announcement about the game:

Sharath Narayan, a sophomore at James Clemens High School in Madison, Ala., has won the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament, claiming the $100,000 grand prize. Alec Fischthal, a junior at George W. Hewlett High School in Hewlett, N.Y., came in second, earning $50,000, while Michael Borecki, a junior at Darien High School, finished third and took home $25,000.

Darien’s Michael Borecki Wins “Jeopardy” Match Tuesday, Back Friday for Semi-Final Round

After winning his quarter-final match on Jeopardy! Tuesday night, Darien High School senior Micheal Borecki will be back Friday for a semi-final round on the TV game show. Borecki is one of two Darien teens to appear in the latest “Teen Tournament” of the show. The other, Porter Bowman, a junior at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, appeared on the show last Wednesday.

Porter Bowman of Darien appears tonight (Wednesday night) on the “Jeopardy” game show, broadcast at 7 p.m. on WABC-TV, Channel 7. He’s one of two Darien teens competing in a contest for 14- through 17-year-olds vying for a $100,000 prize. Bowman is a junior at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan. Michael Borecki, a junior at Darien High School, will be appearing on the show on Tuesday, Nov.
