Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles “major customer service offices” like the one in Norwalk close early on Friday, Jan. 13 — at 12:30 p.m. The workers get Saturday off, when the DMV will be closed, and DMV offices are always closed on Mondays.

Metro-North: “On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 18) Metro-North will operate a Saturday Schedule with additional AM & PM trains. Grand Central North will be closed. See Train Times/Schedules. Extra trains are also included in the current printed timetable.”

Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles offices are normally closed on Mondays, so employees will get a holiday break for Martin Luther King Jr. Day starting at 12:30 p.m., Friday. DMV offices will remain closed on Saturday. DMV offices reopen at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday for regular business hours. You can get some DMV services (license renewals and replacements) at American Automobile Association offices, which will remain open for normal business hours from Friday through Monday, according to an announcement on the Connecticut DMV website. The nearest AAA offices are here: Norwalk, at 495 Westport Avenue
