Mark Your Calendar: Darien Public Works Leaf Pickup Schedule in November, December, 2019

The Darien Public Works Department has announced its fall 2019 leaf pickup schedule, which takes place on three different days in November and December, although the days depend on the part of town where your home is. Please note the following important reminders:

—Leaves will only be picked up if bagged and bags are made of paper. Loose leaves or leaves in plastic bags will not be collected. Please check your local hardware or big box store and supermarket for availability. Some paper bags are not marked 100% Biodegradable.

Mark your November and December calendar pages: Curbside leaf pickup dates have been announced by the Darien Department of Public Works, and getting your leaves to the curb is easier than getting them all the way to the dump. Here’s the announcement (we’re posting this in Darienite.com’s events listings and we expect to republish the announcement closer to the pickup dates). The Town of Darien Department of Public Works will pick up leaves according to the schedule below. [DPW crews will only pick up leaves in paper bags, not loose or in plastic bags. These are START DATES, but leaves could be picked up in your neighborhood as early as 7 a.m. on any date listed here]:

Leaf pickups have started today (Monday), but continue on various days into late November and early December. The Darien Department of Public Works has posted this announcement on its Web pages:

2015 TOWN LEAF PICK-UP SCHEDULE

The Town of Darien Department of Public Works will pick up leaves according to the schedule below. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, north of Railroad Tracks;
Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, south of Railroad Tracks.
