This Friday, July 5, the Darien Summer Nights concert series has Kind Bud returning to Grove Street Plaza for a concert that is certain to add to your holiday weekend fun. — an announcement from Darien Summer Nights

Bud’s acoustic renditions of original music and songs made popular by The Grateful Dead, The Beatles and Bob Dylan have become a favorite for many. Bud travels the region performing at concert venues along the East coast and we are thrilled to have him back in Darien. This season we are thrilled to welcome Flour Water Salt Bread to the evening’s offerings. They will be selling their unbelievable artesian pizza by the slice during the concerts!

Bud, of The Kind Buds, returns to Grove Street Plaza at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17 with his original music as well as your favorites from Jerry Garcia, Beatles, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd.

Darien Summer Nights is a free, weekly outdoor summer concert series at Grove Street Plaza. Music begins at 6 p.m. and continues until 8:30 p.m.

Bud Johnson of the Kind Buds will play Friday, July 21 with Waynard Scheller at Grove Street Plaza as part of the Darien Summer Nights concert series. Bud Johnson has been on the jam band scene for 12 years, and in that time has shared the stage with many talented artists. Waynard Scheller has been performing and traveling with Rainbow Full of Sound. Inspired by the love of Jerry Garcia music, the two soulfully blend keys and acoustic guitar to produce a groovy sound unlike any heard on Grove Street so far this summer. Together they bring their own sound to the best of The Grateful Dead.

The Spadtastics and the Kind Buds Hold Benefit Concert for Two Darien Families

On Friday, June 24, 2016, The Spadtastics and the Kind Buds will star in a benefit concert for the families of Mark Zengo and Larry “Leo” Cochrane, starting at 6 p.m. at Tilley Pond Park in Darien. The event will honor the memory of two former 1982 Darien High School graduates and friends who died suddenly last summer, three weeks apart. Proceeds will be donated to the education funds for the Zengo and Cochrane children. “We’re really excited to be playing this benefit,” said Mary McGee, a vocalist for the Spadtastics. “We all went to school with Mark and Leo, and can’t think of a better way to honor their lives, and their families.
