Nighttime Ramp Closures in Darien and Norwalk Begin 8 PM, Oct 1

The ongoing repaving project on Interstate 95 in Darien and Norwalk will result in ramp closures from Exit 10 to Exit 15, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, starting Oct. 1 (today). The closures will take place at ramps on both the northbound and southbound sides of the highway (which, in Connecticut, are actually eastbound and westbound). The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced the ramp closures. Here’s the announcement:

Nighttime ramp closures will be required along I-95 in Darien and Norwalk to accommodate a roadway resurfacing project beginning Thursday, October 1, 2015.

I-95 Paving Project Means Detours at Darien, Norwalk Ramps at Night

Road crews paving Interstate 95 from Exit 10 to Exit 15 (a project already started further west on the highway) will be providing detour lanes at exit and entrance ramps in Darien and Norwalk at night, state officials announced. The project starts in August and is expected to be completed in November, according to the announcement. Here’s the announcement from the Connecticut Department of Transportation:

The Connecticut Department of Transportation [“CTDOT”] is announcing the following 1-95 ramp closures to allow for milling and paving operations: I-95 Southbound Exits 15, 14, 13, 12, 11 & 10 On and Off ramps in Norwalk and Darien during the month of August from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. This work is part of the pavement preservation project along 1-95.  The project begins at mile 10.67 (Exit 10) and ends at log mile 15.91 (Exit 15) in both the northbound and southbound directions. The project consists of micro milling 2.5 inches of the travel surface and replacing it with 3 inches of polymer modified asphalt; and also the replacement of the top 2 inches of the travel surface on all ramps within the project limits.
