New DAC Kids’ Theatre Director Named, and She’s Teaching New Classes

The Darien Arts Center is pleased to announce new Kids’ Theatre offerings and welcome Heather Kahlert as its new Kids’ Theatre director. Kahlert is a trained actor, director and puppeteer who has worked in theatre in New York City and Fairfield County for almost 30 years. She has served as a producer, artistic director, performer, stage manager, costumer and props maker, as well as a teacher during her professional career. _______________

Kahlert holds a BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz’ School of Fine and Performing Arts and is excited to bring her love of theatrical performance to DAC students. Her enthusiasm is palpable as she comments, “I believe there is a place for everyone in the world of theatre!” Having worked in many aspects of theatre production, Kahlert is well-equipped to nurture the varied interests of her students.
