World Affairs in Foreign Films | Iran

Join Grace Farms and Dr. Roberta Seret, President and Founder of International Cinema Education, for a multi-disciplinary discussion about geography, history, human rights, and justice, highlighting Iran. The program will feature clips from A Separation, a 2011 Iranian drama film about an Iranian middle-class couple who separate, and the conflicts that arise when the husband hires a lower-class caregiver for his elderly father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Roberta Seret is the director of Advanced English and Film for Diplomats at the U.N., author of World Affairs in Foreign Films, and creator of FILMeds. She uses film, where people are brought to life on screen, to show that, despite different languages and cultures, we all share common goals. Dr. Seret has used this new method to teach thousands of students in her United Nations “Global Classroom.”
