Join prevention expert Denique Weidema-Lewis of Positive Directions, for an interactive session from 7 to 8 p.m.

She’ll walk you through:

—An overview of what e-cigarettes and vapes are
—Harmful effects of e-cigarettes and vapes
—Local and national youth data related to use
—Marijuana and e-cigarettes
—What you can do if you suspect your child is using

Public Invited to Discussion on Vapes, E-Cigarettes and ‘Juuls’ at the Depot

The public is invited to an informal workshop/discussion on vapes, e-cigarettes and “Juuls” at the Depot, Darien’s youth center, on Thursday, March 15 as part of the Depot’s “Coffee & Conversations” series. The event takes place from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Speaking will be Dennis Bludnicki and Maggie Young, each of whom has worked at Liberation Programs Inc., which is co-sponsoring the discussion. Here’s more about who they are:

Dennis Bludnicki has been with Liberation Programs, Inc. for over 12 years; initially working as a drug counselor at Greenwich Youth Options for seven years. He later was a counselor at Liberation’s Outpatient Clinic in Stamford facilitating early recovery skills to adults dealing with alcohol and other drug addictions through individual , group and family counseling. Currently, Dennis has returned to working with youth and their families in the Greenwich Community and surrounding area, providing prevention, education and drug and alcohol counseling.
