Dynamic Athletics Gym Gets Evicted by Goodwives Shopping Center

The management of Dynamic Athletics Gym says it’s been ordered by its landlord to close in a dispute over noise that, according to the gym’s owner, was complicated by a stray legal summons. In a news release sent out by the four-year-old gym late on Thursday afternoon, it announced that Urstadt Biddle Properties, the owner of the shopping center, had convinced a state judge to allow the landlord to order that business close operations at the shopping center on Friday, March 31. Dynamic Athletics didn’t dispute the matter in court because a summons announcing the lawsuit had been sent to the former home address of the gym’s owner, Bill Gallagher, instead of to the business address itself, “where all previous correspondence from UB has been delivered from the beginning of the lease,” according to the news release. _________

All-Women Workout & Wine Social, Nov 18

Dynamic Athletics, a fitness training gym in Darien, is hosting an all-women workout and wine social on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. The event, known as WOD & Wine (Workout of the Day), is free and capped at the first 30 women to sign up. The workout will be a CrossFit-style circuit with an emphasis on just enjoying the workout and having a glass of wine or two (or three) after. “In my experience, women especially tend to be intimidated by CrossFit,” says Bill Gallagher, Owner and Head Coach at Dynamic Athletics. “WOD & Wine is designed to be an event where women of

all skill levels are encouraged to participate in a welcoming and social environment and get a sense of what we do here.”

The event will begin with an introduction, warm-up, and then group instruction.
