A 47-year-old Darien man ripped the necklace off a victim’s neck and flip several pieces of furniture during an angry argument at home on Friday night, Darien police said. Police provided these further details about what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were called to a home on Overbrook Lane at 11:39 p.m., where a complainant said that during an argument between the man and the victim, he ripped off the necklace and overturned the furniture. When police spoke with the victim, she agreed with that account. Officers also spoke with the man, who initially denied that the altercation even happened, but he later admitted to the necklace ripping and furniture overturning. After returning home from a bar in the wee hours of Sunday, a couple got into an argument which resulted in each pushing the other, according to police, who charged them both with breach of peace. Darien police described what happened with this account. Police indicated two people were involved in the confrontation, and in trying to describe it within state law, police said the woman was confronting “Protected Party #1” and the man was confronting “Protected Party #2. A call at 2:56 a.m. on Sunday to police resulted in officers being dispatched to the Avalon Darien apartment complext at 137 Hollow Tree Ridge Road on the report of a disturbance outside an apartment.

Police: Man Hit the Mother of His Children While She Had Them in Her Arms

While the mother of his two children had them in her arms, a 35-year-old Darien father punched those arms, making the argument between the parents physical, according to Darien police, who arrested the man. Police said the woman was not injured by the punching. Police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Starting sometime before 10:50 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, when police were called, David Zachary, of 249 Noroton Ave., had an argument with the mother of his children. He later told police that the argument never became physical or severe enough to call police.

An intoxicated 28-year-old Darien man got into an argument with at least two other people in his household who objected to him bringing a gallon of milk to the second floor of their home. Police described what happened with this account, which includes accusations not proven in court:

The argument, which took place on Sunday, Aug. 26, resulted in the man throwing the milk at one of the people he was arguing with. He pushed that person and another other person and challenged the second person to a fight. No further violence was reported, although both of the victims were called obscenities.

Police: Darien Man, 36, Struggled With Woman as She Held Their 3-Year-Old in Her Arms

A 36-year-old Darien man grabbed the mother of his three-year-old son while she was holding him and pushed her onto her back, while she continued holding the boy, police said. Apparently she was on her back on a sofa, because the police account, provided by the woman, said the child slipped off of her onto the sofa when the man and woman were in a scuffle. The man denied grabbing the woman while she held the boy, who wasn’t hurt in the incident, police said. The mother had marks on her arms, according to police, who gave this description of what happened Sunday night, July 29, including accusations not proven in court (unless otherwise noted, the description of the incident is from the woman’s account):

Sometime before 10:15 p.m., when the woman reported the incident to police and met them at Police Headquarters, the couple got into a dispute at their home on Hoyt Street. The woman said that during the argument, while she was holding the boy, the man made hand gestures close to her face, but didn’t touch her at that point.

Darien Woman, 37, Charged Again, This Time in a Minor Domestic Violence Incident

For the fifth time since September, a Darien woman has been charged by police, most recently on a disorderly conduct charge connected with a minor domestic violence incident, her second one in Darien. Adaobi Kurylov and a man she was in a confrontation with were each charged with disorderly conduct after an incident on Tuesday, April 10 in the Avalon Darien apartment complex off of Hollow Tree Ridge Road, police said. This is how Darien police described the incident, including accusations not proven in court:

As part of a divorce agreement, the man was giving a vehicle to Kurylov, and on Tuesday he went to Avalon Darien to deliver a case of water to her and take the license plates off the vehicle, the man told police. When Kurylov learned he had removed the license plates, she became angry, and an argument took place. The man said he tried to walk away and leave, but Adaobi followed him and “smacked” his telephone out of his hand.

Darien Woman Previously Charged in Roadway Confrontation Now Charged in Domestic Violence Incident

When a 37-year-old Darien woman was arrested March 13 on domestic violence charges, it was the fourth time police had charged her since last September and the third arrest since December in which she’d been charged with a violent act. Darien police described what happened in the latest incident with this account (previous incidents in Darien and New Canaan are mentioned at the bottom of this article) :

A man called police at 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, to report an assault. When police went to his home, they saw he had cuts on his lips, a red mark next to his eye and a scratch on his neck. He told them that Adaobi Kurylov had moved out of the home several weeks before and filed for divorce. Since then, the victim allowed her back to gather her belongings, which she was doing earlier that day. When she was leaving, the victim walked her to the door and she left, but she immediately returned and said she had forgotten something, so he allowed her back in to get it.

A Darien woman, 45, was charged with disorderly conduct after an argument with a family member turned physical, police said. At 9:28 p.m., Thursday, police were called to a home in Darien. The victim told police there were ongoing conflicts with the woman, who had grabbed the victim’s arm in an attempt to take the victim’s phone and would not let go. The victim was able to get to the victim’s bedroom, but the woman followed and pushed the victim. The woman told police that there was an argument and that she grabbed the victim’s arm, trying to take the phone.

A woman at Driftwood Diner,  struck in the face by a man she was in a relationship with, ran down the Post Road late Wednesday night and at one point knocked on the window of a car and yelled for help, Darien police said. According to police, the 63-year-old Norwalk man who struck her denied that the confrontation was physical. Police charged him nevertheless. Police were called by the driver called them at 10:09 p.m. to tell them about the woman yelling for help. She had left on foot, going east on the Post Road.

Police: Darien Man Charged Twice in Two Days After Violent Incident at Home

After drinking a bottle of vodka, a 58-year-old Darien man repeatedly punched and pushed another person at home, before police were called at about 1:10 a.m. on Saturday, police said. He was charged in that case and taken to Stamford hospital for observation, police said. A day later he was charged a second time after calling someone to get a ride home, although that person was connected to the first case and police had issued an order of protection forbidding him to contact that person. Since the matter is a domestic violence case, state law forbids police from describing the victim in any way. The arrested man’s address was also not released, and Darienite.com will not publish his name.
