The victim told police that he or she had been slapped by the woman. When police arrived at the home, the victim said the woman had confronted the victim about concerns about their relationship, and the two argued. After the woman knocked the phone out of the victim’s hand, the victim retrieved it and called police. The woman told police there was an argument, but she denied that it ever became physical.

Sometime before 12:28 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, the woman arrived at the home, intoxicated, and was told by the victim that she should leave the house, the victim told police. The woman then started striking, then kicking the victim, who fell and then decided to call police, the victim said. In response, the woman threw the phones at the victim.

Police were called to a home on Overbrook Lane at 11:39 p.m., where a complainant said that during an argument between the man and the victim, he ripped off the necklace and overturned the furniture. When police spoke with the victim, she agreed with that account. Officers also spoke with the man, who initially denied that the altercation even happened, but he later admitted to the necklace ripping and furniture overturning. After returning home from a bar in the wee hours of Sunday, a couple got into an argument which resulted in each pushing the other, according to police, who charged them both with breach of peace. Darien police described what happened with this account. Police indicated two people were involved in the confrontation, and in trying to describe it within state law, police said the woman was confronting “Protected Party #1” and the man was confronting “Protected Party #2. A call at 2:56 a.m. on Sunday to police resulted in officers being dispatched to the Avalon Darien apartment complext at 137 Hollow Tree Ridge Road on the report of a disturbance outside an apartment.

While the mother of his two children had them in her arms, a 35-year-old Darien father punched those arms, making the argument between the parents physical, according to Darien police, who arrested the man. Starting sometime before 10:50 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, when police were called, David Zachary, of 249 Noroton Ave., had an argument with the mother of his children. He later told police that the argument never became physical or severe enough to call police.

The argument, which took place on Sunday, Aug. 26, resulted in the man throwing the milk at one of the people he was arguing with. He pushed that person and another other person and challenged the second person to a fight. No further violence was reported, although both of the victims were called obscenities.

The woman told police that before she went away for the weekend, she had told a family member to clean up the home. When the woman returned on Monday. Aug. 6, she found the house hadn’t been cleaned up and, in fact, looked worse than when she had left.

A 62-year-old resident of Allen O’Neil Drive received a misdemeanor ticket after neighbors complained to police about noise coming from her apartment and she admitted to hitting a member of her household repeatedly with a spoon, police said. Darien police gave this account of the incident, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were called to the home at 6:54 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17 (or possibly Thursday, July 19 — see the last paragraph of this article) when a neighbor complained about hearing what police described as a “commotion” in the residence. One neighbor told police of hearing the victim say “Stop hitting me, you always hit me and then say you’re sorry.” Another person gave a similar account of what was heard. The victim said an argument had taken place about someone being at work on time. The victim initially denied that anything violent had happened, but later said that the woman had hit the victim on the victim’s hand with a wooden spoon.

A 54-year-old woman hurt a family member when a vase she threw smashed on a floor in their home on Nearwater Lane, Darien police said. Darien police gave this account of the incident, partly based on what they were told by others and including accusations not proven in court:

The woman had been irritable much of the day and had been drinking, and she had been acting aggressively toward the victim, officers were told when they arrived at the house after police were called at 7:25 p.m., Sunday. At one point, she left the home and returned with several bottles of wine. The victim later left the house for a while, hoping that doing so would calm her. When the victim returned, the woman began shouting and threw a vase.

A 47-year-old Darien woman struck a member of her household in the face with her hand at about 10:30 p.m., Sunday, July 8. She was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford the next day. The complainant said the woman had become loud during the argument. The woman said the complainant had been pointing during an argument, and she stood up and struck the complainant to stop that. The complainant was unsure whether the woman had struck with an open hand or closed fist.

When Darien police were called to the public pier at Noroton Bay on a report of a young man screaming obscenities and throwing things around just after midnight on Sunday, it led to multiple charges against multiple family members related to at least two fights before arrests were made, according to police. At 12:18 a.m., police were called to the pier near the intersection of Nearwater Lane and Baywater Drive and heard a man screaming obscenities, as had been reported. They found a man, later identified as Charles Daley, 18, sitting on a cooler behind the concession stand at the pier. They could see he was upset.

A 38-year-old Norwalk man was arrested in connection with a visitation dispute with the mother of his son that began in the driveway the woman’s home in Wilton and ended up in the lobby of Darien Police Headquarters, Darien police said. Darien police charged the man with disorderly conduct and reckless driving and gave him a misdemeanor summons in connection with the incident in the lobby, and Wilton police charged him with risk of injury to a minor (a felony), disorderly conduct and second-degree unlawful restraint in connection with the incident in Wilton. For the fifth time since September, a Darien woman has been charged by police, most recently on a disorderly conduct charge connected with a minor domestic violence incident, her second one in Darien. Adaobi Kurylov and a man she was in a confrontation with were each charged with disorderly conduct after an incident on Tuesday, April 10 in the Avalon Darien apartment complex off of Hollow Tree Ridge Road, police said. As part of a divorce agreement, the man was giving a vehicle to Kurylov, and on Tuesday he went to Avalon Darien to deliver a case of water to her and take the license plates off the vehicle, the man told police. When Kurylov learned he had removed the license plates, she became angry, and an argument took place. The man said he tried to walk away and leave, but Adaobi followed him and “smacked” his telephone out of his hand.

When a 37-year-old Darien woman was arrested March 13 on domestic violence charges, it was the fourth time police had charged her since last September and the third arrest since December in which she’d been charged with a violent act. A man called police at 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, to report an assault. When police went to his home, they saw he had cuts on his lips, a red mark next to his eye and a scratch on his neck. He told them that Adaobi Kurylov had moved out of the home several weeks before and filed for divorce. Since then, the victim allowed her back to gather her belongings, which she was doing earlier that day. When she was leaving, the victim walked her to the door and she left, but she immediately returned and said she had forgotten something, so he allowed her back in to get it.

At 9:51 p.m. on Monday, March 5, a woman called police, who came to her home. She told them she had become afraid of her boyfriend. Earlier that day, she had driven one of his vehicles away from her house, because she didn’t want it parked there any longer. She said that when her boyfriend went to her workplace to get the keys, so he could move the vehicle back, he was upset.
